Vertical bone augmentation with guided bone regeneration. A scoping review

چکیده

Introduction: There are multiple techniques for vertical bone augmen-tation. Guided regeneration is one of them; however, the literature diverse and includes different study designs, which makes it difficult to synthesize results. Objective: To analyze general technical characteristics, clinical results, complications augmentation performed with guided in humans. Material Methods: This scoping review was based on PRISMA-ScR guidelines. A search Pubmed, Scielo, Worldcat databases. Papers published from 1990 April 2020 were included study. Research articles not conducted humans or languages other than English Spanish excluded. Title abstract screened by two reviewers, then full studies extracted, data tabulated. Results: 89 included. The highest percentage reported having obtained a increase less 5 mm used non-resorbable membranes. most frequent type graft autogenous combinations grafts, common being xenograft. All that stability implants regenerated favorable, as implant survival, reporting values between 83.8% 100%. Membrane exposure frequently complication, followed infection abscesses, tissue dehiscence. Conclusion: Vertical reliable technique, high predictability low incidence compared techniques.

Guided bone regeneration: A literature review

Guided bone regeneration (GBR) is a reconstructive procedure of alveolar ridge using membranes. This procedure is indicated when there is no sufficient bone for implantation, or in the case of optimal implant installation for esthetic or functional needs. GBR can be performed before implant placement, when there is not enough bone for initial stability of implants and less predictable outcomes ...

Mechanisms of Guided Bone Regeneration: A Review

Post-extraction crestal bone resorption is common and unavoidable which can lead to significant ridge dimensional changes. To regenerate enough bone for successful implant placement, Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) is often required. GBR is a surgical procedure that uses barrier membranes with or without particulate bone grafts or/and bone substitutes. There are two approaches of GBR in implant ...

Long-term effects of vertical bone augmentation: a systematic review

UNLABELLED Extraction, periodontitis, or trauma can cause a reduction on the alveolar ridge. This could result in an insufficient alveolar bone width and height. Different techniques of vertical bone augmentation are described in literature. However, nowadays there is not enough evidence against lateral augmentation procedures to verify if these techniques are stable over a long period of time....

Bone regeneration in dentistry using bioactive glass 49S :A review

Background and Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of 49S bioactive glass nanoparticles made by sol-gel technique on bone regeneration in dentistry. These glass are especially used as bone repair materials because of their properties such as biodegradability and bioactivity, so they seem to be successful in orthopedic and dental surgery. Material and Methods: Acoording to this...
